Im gonna start collecting comic books, i need help to get started off?
I've been obsessed with super heroes since i was small, i want to finally start collecting comics! I do not know the first thing about comic book collecting. Can anyone tell me what would be a good collection to start with? What are comic books worth? How can i tell the value of certain comics? I do not want to get ripped off. And also, what are the best and most collectible comics?
Any other tips is greatly appreciated, thank you!
First do not go in obsessed by "gaining value" , you will drive your self crazy worrying about that. Pick a couple new books you like and buy those, they will soon turn you onto different books ,artists ,writers and such. Then look at a few classics.... The Dark Knight returns or Watchmen to get a little historical perspective.
The value of a comic is more personal than monetary, I have books that are worthless to everyone but me and others that are worth hundreds that I don't give a fig for.
Go to a local shop and ask them whats hot, buy a few big company and at least one smaller press product and I am sure you will get it handled straight away.
