What's the most expensive/valuable comic book?
The world’s most expensive comic book is Action Comics #1 written by Jerry Siegel and illustrated by Joe Shuster. Action Comics #1 features the first appearance of Superman.
Actually it's the first appearance of any superhero in a comic.
The reason that they are so rare is because of World War II. After the war there was a severe paper shortage in American. The Government asked that any old magazines or books be recycled.
Many comic books were destroyed, so a copy of Action Comics #1 is more rare then a comic that came out earlier, and was safely tucked in a basement or attic.
