How do I make comic/manga yelling balloons in Photoshop cs4?
I'm in the process of creating a comic, and I would like to know how to create balloons that have the yelling effect like this: (Copy link)

Response: Why not just do it straight in Photoshop? The pen tool has been there practically forever (and probably works more smoothly than ever in CS4). That way one can see the speech bubble in regards to the comic's composition, flow, etc. without having to import, export, import.
Of course high resolution with no anti-aliasing is the way to go when working for print. (There is also a math to image x printer resolution, but I won't go into that.)

If you want to draw them yourself (as opposed to getting pre-made ones) you'll get the cleanest effect using the pen tool. Let me know if you need further clarification on what I mean.

How to make a manga comic and what do i need?
i want to make a manga but i don't know how. can you help me?
Well, first you need a story and characters. Decide on what type of story you want to write; coming of age, high school romance, fantasy etc, so on.
Then come up with characters. Who are they? What kind of people are they? What do they like to do and how does it factor into the story? If you want characters people can identify with, don't forget to give them some flaws; remember, no one is perfect! Not even manga characters!
Once you have a story and characters, get to writing! What's the conflict in this story? Does Character A like Character B? Maybe Character C likes B, too! Perhaps A and B fight a lot instead? Or does Character A want to get better at something? How does the main character overcome the conflict?
After the story is written, from what I can tell, some professionals like to draw rought drafts of the pages, or even write down what events happen on what pages.
From there, get drawing! Some people like using regular printer paper, while others like to Cardstock for inking. Draw lightly so you can erase easily and you can ink with nearly anything; I like using Microns but other people like using regular Gel pens. They take longer to dry, though.
It might take a long time, but if you really want to do it, I'm sure you can. Good luck!
