Original Fantasy
How hard is it to come up with an original fantasy idea?
I mean come on, how often have you looked at the plot/premise of a book and thought to yourself, wow, what a rip off of Harry Potter/Artemis Fowl/Twilight etc?
Sorry for the confusing question!
What I mean is how difficult is it to write a good fantasy-based story/book without it being too similar to already very popular books/series like those ones?
i know, it's so hard! i've tried to write my own book and failed. apparently you can get really good fantasy ideas from dreams. thats how stephanie meyer and jk rowling came up with their ideas for their books. =)

Is there a website where I can publish original fantasy work?
I'm tired of my literature getting overlooked because of the bulk of the art website I use. Does anyone know of a free membership website where I can publish fantasy (or general fiction even) work for others to read and critique? I really need criticism to grow as a writer.
