Which Is Better The Crosman 760 Pumpmaster or The Daisy Red Ryder?
The Crosman 760 is the better gun. Its more powerful (6.3 ft-lbs of muzzle energy vs. 1.4 ft-lbs of muzzle energy). While they're both smooth-bores, the 760 doesn't have the pronounced "recoil" or jarring jump caused by the spring power-plant during firing which means its going to be more accurate. Finally the 760 can shoot pellets and BBs which means its more versatile. About the only area where the Red Ryder has an advantage is when it comes to nostalgia and fame. In everything else its a less effective gun that the 760.

Red Rider - Lunatic Fringe
I want a red ryder bb gun?
Ok so I am 11 and really want a red ryder bb gun but my mom is totally against it, my dad is kind of up for it. how do I convince her I am mature enough to get one. do not say the red ryder is a bad gun, it will be my first so i do not need an expensive one just a useable
one

You should try to be a safety conscious person. Show that you understand the difference between playing with normal toys and using a projectile weapon.
If you have a very little brother you wouldn't let him play with a steak knife because he doesn't understand how badly people can get hurt with knifes, so he treats it like it wasn't dangerous. You can't let him play with that. Your mom is in the same predicament with you. She doesn't want you to have something that you could hurt yourself or other with. And you can certainly hurt people badly with a BB gun.
Also ask yourself if you have a place to shoot it. You'll need an earthen wall to stop the BBs so that they don't just keep going through whatever is in front of them. Even if no one gets hurt, it can get expensive. If you live in the city or don't have much land and can't get out to a range very often, you are probably not gonna get to use it much. I've been gung-ho about certain presents and then discovered that I really only got to use them once in a while, so even though I liked it a lot, I'd have been better off with something more practical.
For the record, my step-dad was a hippie and he refused to let me have anything of the sort. My mom, who had gone rabbit hunting with my grandfather when she was twelve, thought there was nothing wrong with it. She knew I could be trusted with it, but he objected just cause he hated guns. Your mom might not like guns, and if that's the case, you have to respect her for it.
I bought a BB gun when I turned 18 just to spite him. It was cheap, though and very inaccurate. If you get one and like it enough to shoot once a week I suggest you save your money and buy a nice Sheridan when you feel like you're ready for something more sophisticated.
